Regis High School Performing Arts Center
The program for this performing arts center and student commons project includes a 485-seat theater with state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems; music and drama classrooms; a college counseling center; and a communications/ technology lab. A two-story lobby space extends the entire length of the facility to the west, connecting the major program areas of the building and doubling as a student commons during the school day. The lobby provides abundant natural daylighting and unrestricted views of the mountains from both levels.
The lobby space was designed to serve as an interior link between the Girls and Boys Division buildings and to serve as a central focus for the co-divisional campus.
The building was designed to minimize energy usage by approximately 40% over similar baseline facilities. Elements of the sustainable design approach included natural daylighting, enhanced exterior envelope features, lighting control systems, high-performance glazing, and energy efficient mechanical systems.
